Poker strategy “When to bluff” ?
I have only one question : “When to bluff” ?
If I find answer on this poker question I will be the best player on the world.All this poker part of this blog is about this only and simple subject.If you are new in poker you should read this wikipedia poker betting text about main rules. The important thing when it comes to successful bluffs, is knowing your opponents. Are they tight, over aggressive, will they lay down a pair with a weak kicker when facing a re-raise etc.Only solution is that best poker player must have strategy for each kind of poker player.Books The Book of Bluffs: How to Bluff and Win at Poker and Poker Face: Mastering Body Language to Bluff, Read Tells and Win will teach you everything which you should to know about this matter.Beyond Bluffs: Master the Mysteries of Poker are less descriptive book but with a lot expirience.
I try to play one against one at poker.I use Titan poker software and Playgate poker and lose a lot of games.I just realize that when I play with high pot with more money I have sometimes weak opponents. Really, it was lucky that day but I think that the number of games is very important and many small pot players have great experience.
But all this tect above is my stupid oppinion just in this moment.The most important thing is tips.So the tip for today and forever is :
Optimal bluffing frequency
If a player bluffs too infrequently, observant opponents will recognize that the player is betting for value and will only call with very strong hands or with drawing hands when they are receiving favorable pot odds. If a player bluffs too frequently, observant opponents snap-off his bluffs by calling or reraising. Occasional bluffing disguises not just the hands a player is bluffing with, but also his legitimate hands that opponents may think he may be bluffing with. David Sklansky, in his book The Theory of Poker, states “Mathematically, the optimal bluffing strategy is to bluff in such a way that the chances against your bluffing are identical to the pot odds your opponent is getting.”
Optimal bluffing also requires that the bluffs must be performed in such a manner that opponents cannot tell when a player is bluffing or not. To prevent bluffs from occurring in a predictable pattern, game theory suggests the use of a randomizing agent to determine whether to bluff. For example, a player might use the colors of his hidden cards, the second hand on his watch, or some other unpredictable mechanism to determine whether to bluff.”
